Preparation work before remote service to led display

Sometimes the customers ask for help from the vendors of the LED display because their display doesn’t work. Usually the vendors make remote service to the display. The vendors will remote control the display via internet.  In this process, the vendor needs to know some information of the display, and do some analyze to the display. So if the customer can do some preparation work before the remote service, the remote service will go on very quickly and successfully .
To a broken screen , usually there are two possible situations : (1) hardware problem (2) hardware is ok , the configuration file (RCG file for linsn system for example) lost.

First , check the hardware.
1. the signal cables are in right direction. In below picture, in the left is a receiving card, take the mark “HUB75B” in the right direction, and in the right is a LED module, take the narrows in the right direction, and see the cable, the blue side are both on the top.

2. the hub card match the LED modules.
in the above picture, we can see the mark “hub75B”, and in the LED module we can also find the printing mark as below picture, it is “hub40”

Hub75 and hub40 mean different layout of the connecters , different definition of the connecter pins. So the hub card of the receiving card and the LED module must have the same hub type.
3. The voltage of the control card. The voltage should be 5V. and when they are working , there are two lights , one is red light, means power, another is green light, means signal . the red light should be lighting when the green light should be flicking.
4. We also need the pictures of the LED module, front and back.

Then we know the type of the LED module. We need this information when we crate the configuration file. We also need the total size of the screen , the pictures of the cabinet , we need to know the resolution of each cabinet. But only this is not enough. If this screen is not produced by us, we still don’t know the pcb layout of the LED module. So when we do remote service, we need to try all the possible opportunities. This process will cost most of time.
5. Self test.

After some basic inspections, then start the test mode of the screen.
a. disconnect all the Ethernet cable ( disconnect the cable between sending card and receiving card ).
b. power on .
c. press the black button in the red circle in below picture.If no response , power out, press it and hold on , power on, still press the button and hold on 30 seconds ( reset the card ), then press time and time.if the screen is ok , it will show full red, full blue, green , white … even the RCG file lost, we can also find some kinds of regular pattern.If still no response, try another receiving card. It seem impossible that all the receiving cards are broken, otherwise some terrible damage, lightning stock and so on.
If the self-testing mode get a good result which approve that the hardware is ok, then we can decide a time when we do remote service for you.
